Artist Name: Francois Gavazzi

Francois Gavazzi was born February 21, 1942 in Ollioules (France). His family is from the island of Corsica. At the age of sixteen, he entered the ?Fine Arts School? of Marseille (South of France) and there studied and practiced the art of drawing. Soon thereafter, Gavazzi began his study of painting and fell in love with both color and texture. Gavazzi?s subjects are only pretexts to his expression. He does not reproduce reality, but expresses the impression, which comes out of the subject itself using large flat surfaces of almost pure colors and substances.
